Time for an RSVP-off

I have to share these with you.
So far the RSVP's have been dribbling in and I'm sharing my two favourites,
First up is Blythe and Tom - who included some illustrations in their response email.

Tom and I are officially rsvp'ing yes :-)
Can't wait!!!!!! I'll bring the Aussie charm......

And booze related miracles will happen!

And next up to Phil and Caz who managed, somehow, to find a card featuring our second favourite soap wedding of all time:

How ever did they know?

Anyway, I've decided that this heralds a wedding RSVP-off. John and I will judge and whoever sends us the best, most fitting, most fabulous RSVP wins a snog with the groom on the wedding day.
A treat I know.

And they're out.....

Well well, all hail second class postage. I've just posted off the second batch of wedding invitations and have already heard that some people have received theirs. Yay all round! All we have left to do is round up some of the addresses for people we don't have and buy a load of airmail stamps for those of you who've fled further away and we're set.

It's fine for people to comment below to let me know if you're coming or not, if you have kids, kids are invited too - there will be some fun things for them to do at the reception. Hell it's Felixstowe, they have the sea, the Grove, they can probably get served in The Grosvenor already.... Just let me know exactly who is coming so I can finalise the numbers. Numbers are limited I'm afraid so if you could go by the names on your envelopes that would be great. Also I'm afraid numbers are limited for the ceremony, which is in a fairly small room - so not everyone can come. But that is the boring bit so hopefully no one really cares! Due to this freakishly small ceremony we will be setting up what's becoming known as The Boyfriend Creche in The Alex - the bar down the road. I think I'm going to make that the pre wedding hanging out place so feel free to pop along if you need to down a couple when you realise that you are in Felixstowe and you'll be stuck there a for a couple of days. http://www.alexcafebar.co.uk/

I know from previous experience that Blogger can be a bit picky about who it lets comment on blogs sometimes so if you have any problems or any queries please feel free to drop me an email jesweetman@hotmail.co.uk

Preparations are all underway, I have knitted about 10 million flowers and fallen in love with a £110 pair of Vivienne Westwood shoes that smell of bubblegum. John is currently wrestling with coach companies so we can get a Hi De Hi bus for the day, and I'm working out whether it's ethical to have a reading from Valley of the Dolls at your wedding.

Stupidly excited!!! xxxxxxx

Also if you want to post below where you are staying then we can work out who is where, and stalk them.

The Reception

The wedding reception is happening from 3pm FRIDAY 6 JAN 2012
Food (hog roast / veg roast / about a million cakes) will be happening at 4pm - so don't be late, or we'll eat it all!

The venue is the Felixstowe Trades and Labour Club
http://www.ftandlc.co.uk/

Felixstowe Trades & Labour Club
182 High Rd West
Felixstowe
Suffolk
IP11 9BB

There is a pretty sizeable car park, for those of you who are going to the wedding itself we'll be laying on transport from the wedding to the reception.

Be there or be square!

Hotel accommodation in Felixstowe

The hotel we're staying at is the Hotel Elizabeth, it's probably the hotel closest to the wedding reception venue:

However there are other alternatives:

The Marlborough (on the seafront): http://www.marlborough-hotel-felix.com/

The Norfolk (boo!): http://www.thenorfolk.com/

There are others as well, feel free to Google them! Here's a handy map for you to peruse.

Welcome!

Welcome friends to the official John and Jess getting married blogspot.
I've set this up because we're too cheap to get a proper website but all the other kids are doing it.
We'll be posting details about the day, what's happening and when, and info about local hotels and the like to ensure that everyone has as much of a kick ass time as they can.

You can also email me via this site and leave lovely messages.
So here we go!
